Contest Brief

Modern/postmodern design of 2 elevations

The contest consists in the design of two elevations. Proposals are submitted as images (jpeg) but the winning proposal must be submitted on sketch up (3D) before the prize is awarded.

Minor alterations to the floor plans to suit the design of the elevations can be accepted but no change in the floor layouts is allowed.

Design considerations:

1- No complex design, should be simple, easy to implement
2- Good combination of colors and materials. White color should be dominant.
3- The 3D is given for indication only.
4- The front elevation should be improved.
5- The rear elevation should be ignored – freedom for creativity to propose a combination of a glass façade with structural elements. Setback and balcony on first floor should be ignored as well. Access to outside only from ground floor.
6- The pergola on the entrance must be kept but could be changed in shape, color or material.
7- The small square openings of the bathrooms will be kept if possible.
8- There is a swimming pool on the roof of the garage.

Design proposals can be submitted in a conceptual form and will be further developed based on my comments and until satisfactory. The proposals that are far away from reaching the result will be rejected. The successful proposal will be awarded the prize.

    I am uploading all the SketchUp model views i have created till now under one file. Hope you like my work. I was unable to render the model using vray due to the lack of time in the last moment. But i shall send you the rendered images when we are working on the interior design project for this particular house.
