Contest Brief
IMPORTANT - Please do not bother to submit entries of plagiarised work, logos from clip art libraries etc. It is a waste of your time and mine.
Your work should be original. I want the brand name integrated in the logo and not in addition to it.
We're a new website. Our brand will only be used on the site which will be in the region of 5-10 pages.
Our site address is advisorfinder.co.uk
A similar style of site can be found at:
localfinancialadvice .co.uk
We require a logo for the site. This logo will need (at the next stage) to be extrapolated out to the site design. The logo needs to be simple, professional looking and needs to engender trust. It must not look gimmicky. Target market is 40-80 years old. Site visitors are unlikely to be repeat and so it is not necessary to be extremely memorable or recognisable. This site aims to allow visitors to source a local financial adviser, solicitor or accountant. It is about finding professionals.
All colours are available but please remember that this will need to roll out to the site design.
Please contact us for every question / doubt.
Thank you for your time and good luck!
UPDATE
To reiterate, the logo is only to be used on the website. It will never be used on business cards and so does not need to be print compatible and i do not need to see designs on business cards/letter heads. Also, as the site will not be revisited, it is not necessary to have the full domain in the logo. Therefore, in my opinion it would look better without the .co.uk ending in the logo.
The site needs to engender immediate trust. I do not feel that pictures of ties or people in ties does that. It makes it feel like a typical white collar business. These are highly trained, individual professionals we are finding and so it is probably best not to highlight the one characteristic that they wear a suit - they don't all wear suits.
Please don't use magnifying glasses/lenses. These are contrived and gimmicky.
As the logo is only ever seen on the site i think it wise to use fonts that are easily replicated on the rest of the site. Serif fonts are therefore best to avoid.
For examples of a logo that is good, go back to the link at the top of the brief. Thanks and good luck.
