I was going to purchase a new home. but would like to price out a environmentally friendly sustainable building.

i think my best material is shipping containers. in the following styles

our requirements:

Will be southern living in Florida USA. will be located.lake front.

the lot is approx 1 acre

We would like wide open feel to the design with 2 stories with spaces open to both.stories.

Rooms:
living room
dining room
office/den (downstairs)
open kitchen design (no galley)
4 bedrooms in second floor
laundry room in second floor
3 car garage detached. but under same roof
game room/mancave detached.but under same roof

Please submit a rough design for contest.

if my wife chooses your design - I would like a plan for the design not a crazy plan but something i can get real good quotes and how many containers would be needed and what sizes any other things that can help me sell this idea to my wife.

please let me know if you need any further info

If we decide to use your design we would like to give you first bidding rights for the final project. we will priced around $800 - $1000 as suggested in the comments.

  On that website you can find the containers you need to build your home. I found 40' x 8' for $2,000 each and 20' x 8' for $1,500 each... Alot there in the south Florida area.

I have experience 10 years. but as a freelancer, I am new, I want to show how to be a freelancer. I need the exact size of the area to Your wishes! and how many squares of the house You expect? the depth and height of the Foundation? and a snapshot of the neighbor houses approximately a sense of the atmosphere of the street)))

  square footage is workable i am trying to use 5 containers standard sizes 40ftlong X 8ft wide X 9.5 ft high

  5 Containers would be only 1600 sq ft. If you want a 3 car garage to fit your mini vans then that would be at a minimum of 3 - 20' Containers (but the minivans are 6' 7" wide and the interior of the containers is 7' 8" so that would be a VERY tight squeeze). These are all of the things I analyze when undertaking any project.

500 USD could be acceptable..for e-files drawing and considerable 200 USD for B.O.Q. (bill of quantities)

Thank you all for your suggestions! I am sure you all deserve those prices, but i am treating this like a what if project (if any new freelancers or students really whom ever needs it wants to take a stab at it) I actually have about a 20% chance of building it. I will be sure to pay that to engineer. that does my final design. so take it as you will. if my winer thinks its little and i like his design enough i will be willing to tip big! like 5-10 dollars! LoL
