Design a Website User Interface for QRcode generation company
- Status: Closed
- Prize: $640
- Entries Received: 39
- Winner: Shanti Infotech
Contest Brief
We’re new and innovative company to allow visitors to create QRcodes directly from our website. Our url is: qrencode(dot)net
We’re looking for a design of our home page user interface. Just like many companies these days have the home page as a functional landing page instead of welcome text (colorpicker(dot)com, favicon(dot)cc, etc), we too are looking to have a page where the user can go, and right from the home page can start creating a product.
The functionality will be similar to qrstuff(dot)com, but we will allow the visitor to upload their images. Then the user will be able to draw a square on that picture and the QRcode will be placed inside that square.
In short, the user will have to perform 5 steps:
1 select what kind of QRcode to create (url, sms, address, contact info, etc)
2 fill-in the information required for that type of QRcode
3 upload the image (including button to upload, drag-images-here, etc, image preview area after uploaded, etc)
4 draw a square on top of the uploaded image
5 verify and download the produced output image
The idea is similar to what can be seen on madrani(dot)com/qrcode/ site, but needs to be much simpler to navigate.
We like modern clear style for our website, but we would also like to see colors, however the main background should stay relatively clear.
Good luck to you all,

Hello Contenders!
Now is the time to announce the final winner! Let me share with you how we classified the designs to rank them. Designs with:
2-stars had something to contribute, but the idea was not fully explored.
3-stars were given to the designs that clearly understood the requirement, elaborated on the design, and had designed all, or most of the required workflow.
4-stars were given to 4 finalists - each design had great and very well thought-through UI and great design.
The final selection was the most difficult because we liked all 4. We liked one design's color combination and the other design's for ideal UI. Due to UI being the primary focus of this project we've selected *Sptechnocrats* design #57 as the winner.
Congratulations to all 4-stars!
With the small changes, such as selection of 'yellow' for header area, which we didn't find appealing, the overall UI and simplicity was nearly perfect. I'm sure we can request small-final tweaks to achieve perfection.- 12 years ago

sorry Andradedan for just coming across this contest. This was an interesting competition, and I have at least a few designs that I like. This will be very hard to make a final selection, as many are really good.

First and foremost, I'd like to thank everyone of you for submitting your designs! Most of you had great ideas and uniqueness in your design and approach to the required UI. Interesting that while my requirement stated certain constrains on colors and shapes, some of the submitted designs took different approach, and using your design talent were able to demonstrate to our decision making team alternative approaches to the solution.

Hello Lauranl, thank you for your submission. I reviewed your designs and I understand the flow of events. I think the User Interface is not as intuitive as I would like to see it. Maybe make step2 more obvious? Via highlighting of the area, graphical arrows pointing that the step in required. Regarding everything else, try to use more colors in your design, to make it a little brighter. Thanks again, Regards, and good luck!

you specified about visualead(dout)com earlier. Do we need to design the home page showing what the product is, and the features of the product just like they did ? or the page should contain upload images, draw square etc and stuff like that ?
-
Contest Holder - 12 years ago
Ideally I would like to have both. Since I don't have a good gallery of images yet, feel free to copy images from them to use as a placeholder. When I have a product, I'll replace the images.

Hi,
Do your need 1 page or 5?- 12 years ago
-
Contest Holder - 12 years ago
unless you can put all 5 elements on 1 page and it would still look good. Otherwise I need the whole storyboard.

Do you have a logo?
-
Contest Holder - 12 years ago
No, I don't have a logo yet. I have one idea in mind, but it hasn't been implemented yet. Think of it as colorful logo - kind of like yours, but not round.

11 is just the beginning of the interface. Something similar to what I already have right now. I'm looking for multiple screens step-by-step process design, or if you can fit everything on one page - than the page with all elements is what I'm looking for.
