I am sure many of you are aware of the tragic events of Ferguson and what happened in NYC with Eric Garner. The website that I have created is a reaction to these terrible events.
I have registered 2 domains and plan on using these domains to offer legal information and sell educational/constitutional merchandise. The site will include information on what your rights are when talking to the police. I will be handing out rights cards, like those shown here (http://norml.org/legal/item/freedom-card). I will offering for sale legally functional apparel. Which is to say, the clothing will inform the police officers that you are NOT legally required to talk to them. It will further state that you waive no rights and you wish to leave.
Your job is to do two things:
1) Create a logo that I can use both on the shirt and my websites.
- The logo should not be NYC specific as I plan on using it for both websites
- And CANNOT resemble the logo that I have attached; it is the logo of a competitor
2) Design (including the logo) a Tshirt that includes the following elements
- Text saying "I don't waive rights" and near or below that it should include below or near that: "Brown v. Texas, 443 U.S. 47 (1979)"
- It should also include the website address on the T-shirt (stopthefrisk.nyc OR stopthefrisk.com)
Aside from those instructions, you are free to design whatever you want. I look forward to your entries.
