Contest Brief

We need a customized user interface for pdf.js.
LuminPDF (by NitroLabs Limited) is a pdf viewer with over 25 million users. We currently use the native chrome pdf viewer to display pdf files. However, we want to create a new pdf viewing experience (based around pdf.js). In this contest we are asking for UI concepts for the new pdf viewer. We do not require working html/js at this stage, we only ask for high quality screenshots/images of the new interface.

The pdf reader must include the following:
- All of the controls provided by pdf.js [see http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/web/viewer.html]
- Controls for annotation, highlighting, pen thickness and color ect.
- An options menu (or controls) for signing,emailing,add/removing pages,scanning for viruses

A successful entry should:
- Be original and creative
- Be touch screen friendly
- Use the Lumin (lightening bolt) icon somewhere
- Make pdf viewing a zen like experience
- Make pdf editing a simple and powerful experience
- Hide many of the editing features when the user is reading

Existing PDF viewers
- We love the simplicity of the native chrome pdf viewer
- We are concerned about the touch friendliness and clutter in pdf.js
- We like the pen controls in notablepdf
- We like the zen style expressed in windows 8 reader.

The winner will need to provide layered psd (or similiar) files containing the icons/menus/ect used to generate the concept

  1) A true zen pdf reader. Only a toggle button for toolbars, and the current page number. When the user clicks the toggle button, they get the full editing UX.
  2) More use of vertical dropdown menus or dialog boxes
  3) A concept without the default pdf.js bar

  We are looking for a super creative and polished solution. You will not be penalised for leaving the default pdf.js UI elements unchanged. However, we want the UI to be unique and touch-screen friendly.
