Hi there and thanks for reading our brief! The Lost Fly is a brand new micro business based in Tasmania, Australia. We sell custom, hand-tied flies that are used for fly fishing. We would like a logo which is based on this abstract design - http://www.123rf.com/photo_23570874_abstract-fly-fishing-in-black-color-on-white-background.html. This should give you an idea of the feel and quality we are looking for. We have modified this ourselves into the desired shape which we've attached as a jpg file (please note there are subtle but important changes from the stock photo concept to ours, so use our modified design always as reference).
The 'feel' of the logo is for it to be crisp, clear, precise, flowing, easily recognisable in smaller format (ie business cards) and scalable to say A4 size (for T shirts or vehicle signage). We would be very happy for you to use the exact modified image we have supplied but obviously refining the strokes and lines to a quality similar to the stock photo sample. The logo is needed in mono with a transparent background (so for one colour printing on coloured stock, order sheets etc) and also in colour, with 3 colours maximum including black for the 'iconic' logo which will be used on our website, business cards etc. The name of the business to be incorporated is The Lost Fly. We don't have any strong feelings on whether it is a portrait or landscape style of logo once text is added.
COLOURS: The colours we like are lime green and orange and we've quickly picked out colours we liked online and put the codes after each of them. If you have a better idea or fantastic inspiration re colour though please let us know! Our preference is for the colour just to be a highlight, a slash of colour if you like, a small highlight to accentuate the black. If the colour ruins the simple lines of the logo then we will have to stay with black.
Lime green - Hex: #AAF200 / RGB: 170, 242, 0 / CMYK: 0.298, 0, 1, 0.051 / HSV: 78, 100, 95
Orange - Hex: #FF8000 - RGB: 255, 128, 0 - CMYK: 0, 0.498, 1, 0 - HSV: 30, 100, 100
FONT: Font - must be either low cost or free for us to use/license. Something stylish and crisp like the lines of the logo. Prefer upper and lower case lettering but would consider all capitals. Definitely not all lower case please! Prefer that the image takes priority over the text, so if you are struggling to come up with a font or layout just use something simple.
END REQUIREMENT:
The chosen logo is to be supplied in a variety of files typical of industry standard. This should include at a minimum a high resolution vector image, .jpg and .png file.
Two variations are required, mono and colour (please advise the colour information so we can use in other resources)
Transparent background file for each also please.
WHAT WE WILL DO IN RETURN: This is very new for us and we really want to support the process as much as possible. If there is anything we haven't made clear please just ask. We are very happy to write great feedback for the chosen entry. If we like your submission but offer feedback to improve it, it is up to you whether you wish to continue this process with us or not, we know your time is valuable and we don't want to get into endless revisions, we would rather work with someone who 'gets' us. Please keep in mind any time difference when contacting us, we're in Tasmania, Australia, so we will generally be replying between 8am and 10pm our time.

Update! Well the competition has closed and we loved looking through all of the entries. We've whittled it down to 3 entries which each have merit, although none are exactly what we want. So we've written to each creator to see if they can incorporate our suggestions. We haven't asked anyone to copy or benefit from others' designs, we have just asked them to tweak *their* designs! Interestingly, the designs we have chosen on our short list were numbers #1 , #2 and #10 so hats off to them for being quick and creative and not waiting to see what everyone else does.

Hi there and thank you so much to everyone who has entered so far! We have gone through and marked some as not suitable (rejected .... sorry, sounds horrible!), hope you understand they simply aren't what we are personally looking for.
