  I am noticing a lot of stock imagery in this contest and a lot of stock image licenses prohibit the use in logos. For example, iStock does NOT let you use ANYTHING in a logo or trademark, regardless of purchased license. Scroll to the bottom of their "Compare Licenses" page and look under restrictions. http://www.istockphoto.com/help/licenses
  
  To all of you using stock images – Please check your license for the image to see if you are allowed to use it with logos. I know iStock and ShutterStock both do NOT allow this, no matter what license. If you aren't allowed to, either find somewhere else with the same image that allows this and purchase that license or withdraw your entry. If it turns out you are allowed to use the image, it's probably a good idea to link to the license so the contest holder knows. She might be wary of choosing any logos with stock images without knowing if it's ok.

     Hi there thank u for making me aware of this - I need something I can use for a logo - how do I know if a 'stock image' is being used and has no license for a logo? Thank u in advance for ur help

     It's hard to know unless you find the stock images on the databases. I know #45 is a stock image that I've seen on iStock (doesn't allow for logos) – http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-12757895-eco-beauty-girl.php . Same with #98 http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-17356154-background-with-beautiful-girl-silhouette.php .
     
     I would suggest going through some of those sites, iStock, Shutterstock, or VectorStock (there are others out there). Please note that VectorStock DOES allow the use of logos, but with a standard license you cannot print the image more than 250,000 in any capacity. So every time you have your logo printed on a business card or shopping bag, that contributes to that number, and legally you are limited at 250,000. It's your call whether or not that's a problem if it comes up.
     
     You can also just announce/ask designers to tell whether they used stock images and show they have the proper licensing.

  Hi loves2write84 I was after one of them to be a silhouette the other girl glammed up - I was also hoping the writing would be bigger and centralised with the 2 girls somehow positioned on/in/around the writing. Thanks for ur entry :)
