Im looking for a redesign of the logo for a popular student focused site.

This is out current logo which i made in photoshop with some font:

I want the current logo to be change completely trying new concepts with the same color scheme. Im looking for something simple but recognizable.

Below is a logo i really like. I like how it has a icon that can represent the brand it self without the wording. I also like how its simple yet recognizable which is what im aiming for.
