Contest Brief

We have recently purchased a new sailboat and will be setting sail under a new name. That said, I'm looking for something that will fit well on the back of a large catamaran and that will stand out. The name of the boat is: "Sakura Seas" And the colors associated with Sakura (which in Japanese are Cherry Blossoms) are generally pinks, or in the shade of pink. For this one, I would like to go a little darker than normal, as we don't want the logo to appear washed out. But the idea is to find a really nice typeface, something that has a Japanese Flair to it and then to work in the Sakura in some way. I plan to have future vessels that will have similar names; but for now this is what we are starting with.

One more thing. For those that are trying to use Japanese Characters in the logo (first off I commend those that are doing it... they are getting pretty close) That said, You would not write "sakura" in hiragana. It should be 桜 for the first three characters. Technically.... the character for Sea would be: 海 (But it's a little outdated). Overall: 桜海

Hello everyone and thank you for your entries so far. One thing I would like to point out; there's a bunch of default / standard font faces that are being used over and over by folks here. (With some noted exceptions). I'm looking for you to infuse something that makes sense. Also, if you just shove a boat with waves and the text on the logo.... Why even bother submitting the entry?
