Hi,

I'm currently in the process of creating a new service called Pencil Pros (www.pencilpros.com). It has yet to be launched and will include a number of services such as logo design, cartoons/sketches, storyboards (i.e. for adverts), ebooks covers etc. The idea is that when clients place orders, we start out using pencils to literally draw the design on paper and scan/upload it for viewing. Only once it's approved, it gets put into digital format and either kept as is, or further animated/designed using software. As a result, I'm looking for a vintage/quality vibe.

The logo I need will be put on a black background (although the winning logo will also need to be designed to fit on a white background for invoices and such), and be abstract. I'm thinking something like "Pencil Pro" written in cursive silver on a black background, with background coloring behing the letters like a scribble in three shades - something like blue, yellow and green. Sort of how someone will scribble/shade something to test the color. It needs to "pop", but the "Pencil Pro" writing should stand out too. Feel free to do your own take and deviate from this idea. Something with a vintage flavor would be nice.

I decided not to seal this project so people can get an idea what I like and what I don't. I did want to say that I'm leaning towards a retro yet art deco type of theme for the website. Feel free to ignore my initial idea and come up with your own clever logo designs. I will try give feedback, but if not, please note the stars as to what I've been impressed with so far.
