Contest Brief

We need a logo design to be used in the header of our website...

It should fit in a area about 370 x 120 so it can be used in the top left corner of our site and still leave room for banner ads to be placed along side it.. The "New Homes" needs to be dominant but still have the "guide". and the co.nz should be clearly noticeable also see our current page.. www.newhomesguide.co.nz

The website is for promoting exclusively NEW homes and not general real estate. or existing homes.. so the NEW needs to be emphasized in the design.. either by color, style etc.

In other words so people understand quickly that the site is about new built homes..

The design should be modern and bright.. and in at least 2 colors. It will likely be used on a colored header background.. dark blue or dark red say.. feel free to present your logo in a header color you think would look good for our site...

But as I said I am not a designer.. but I am delighted to see that some of you have picked up on these subtleties .. :-)

Oops sorry couldn't work out the paragraph option.. was shift/enter not ctrl/enter..
So here tis my comments
1.) I want logo to look professional.. and even a little classy.. to better reflect the principles of what people want in a NEW house.. to be honest many of these entries just look 'cheesy' sorry..
2.) The logo needs to fit within the dimensions ratio as below.. for the already stated reasons..
3.) The USP for the site.. is about NEW Homes.. the 'guide' part is a subordinate aspect..
4.) It needs to be clear that we are about a users "our NEW home' as opposed to "our New (old) home" if you understand the distinction..
Hence some focus on the word NEW.. without having to be as blatant as I was just then.. and it doesn't have to be in capitals of italics like I did in my own 'cheesy' (interim) version of it..

Again thanks for all the great entries. Please forgive me if I reject many.. Too be honest I am not a designer.. which is why I put this up as a contest.. But like they say about Art..
