I built and designed LetzGoOut.com about 7 years ago, and little has changed since. I was always more focused on the functionality than the design, but it's long overdue for a facelift. The plan is to pick a logo first, and let the design follow around that. Certainly check out the site for what it does, but know that little if any graphic elements there now were planned to carry over to the new design.

On the existing logo, I'd been going for elements that I could reproduce in a neon outline look that represented a lot of the various things people do when they go out. Of them, I kind of like the disco guy, but am by no means committed to carry him over to the new design. I'm open to any possibility that catches my eye really. I'd want to think long term viability in the chosen design, as it's been 7 years since my last redesign. Who knows how long this might be out there.

  Sorry but my design isn't copied at all. I've the VECTOR files while the link file is a bitmap, I've created the vector my own. I wouldn't be participating on this contest if I haven't the EPS/AI files all layered.

  I'd be curious to know how this common image was discovered. The fact that the image portion is identical does bother me a bit, however, I’m assuming this is a case of two designers using the same source for stock art. The text did use a different background. Regardless, in the end, my final decision was due to elements I felt I would be able to work from better in the upcoming site design.
  
  I don't know if this other logo got used, is to be used, or was abandoned, but its similarity to this one, coupled with the commonality of market of our sites would have proven a difficult obstacle. In the end, however, the design I chose won on its own merits, not due to any suggestions of copied work, which I attribute more to unfortunate coincidence than deliberate action.
  
  I do thank theislanders for pointing this out, and I thank mmorella for a couple of very nice entries, which while fan favorites, in the end were edged out by a design that fit my intended direction for this site better.

  64 and 65 have potential, but two things - the biggest one is it's LetzGoOut.com, not LetsgoOut. :) The other is I'd probably prefer it if the image was inline instead of centered on top, allowing for easier integration with future site design plans. Thanks!

I'm really liking the entries I'm seeing so far. A lot of great ideas, and potential drivers for the site overhaul. I have a couple of things that I'm thinking as I see the entries.

First, I think I'm gravitating towards rectangular layouts, and ones that fit roughly within a 3x5 to a 3x7 dimension seem to appeal the most.

Second, I'll be hoping to get a jpg or png version along with an eps, ai or some other vector version upon awarding a prize.

And finally, I'm not tied to a specific color, but I do know that I would like to have some color involved. I've seen a couple of single color or monochrome entries that I like quite a bit, so know that I'm not looking for a rainbow - just some element involved.

The four and five star entries remaining reflect what's being considered currently, and I'll be thinning it out further as the contest draws to a close.

  I like it a lot, and apparently so do a lot of others. It's a frontrunner. Right now, I think I'm leaning towards getting rid of the black background, so the white version would be a top contender. I'd be curious to see other font variations - maybe something heavier, possibly (but not definitely) more stylized. The colors, I think I like them in the current style.
