Contest Brief

Thoughts to consider in design: contest brief
• Preferred colors: black (dark grey), white, gold
• Reason for these colors, light coming out of darkness, bringing hope, (In Africa clean water is referred to as liquid gold), the drop implies water
• H (Hope) plus D (Dreams), 2 letters because we are in 2 continents (Africa & India) and we have 2 strategies, [ water projects (ie. bring access to clean safe drinking water for desperate villages) and micro loans projects (ie. empower women by providing them with start up capital so they can generate an income and provide basic needs for their families) ]
• Currently using the plus sign as an and, we are motivated by faith, our intention was to use a cross subtly but not to be overt or obvious (we help all regardless of their faith), this is not a must but would like it incorporated somewhere subtly
• Whole logo looks like a key (side view, we believe we have the keys to unlock & break generational poverty)
• Our slogan/motto/tagline is: breaking poverty, transforming lives
• Also like to see different potential fonts for the name hopes and dreams, we have removed the inc. from our tradename (also have a preference for lower capital lettering)
• To be relevant, fresh

What we do:
• Hopes and Dreams is dedicated to delivering self-sustaining, poverty breaking solutions through micro enterprise and water development projects in Africa and India.
• Two main keys: empowering women to have their own small business and brining access to clean water, (coupled with education) can break the cycle of poverty for generations.

Why we do:
• We don’t want to see children dying before they reach 5 years of age because of water related diseases and we don’t want to see people go to bed hungry because they don’t have an income that can support their basic needs.
• We want to see people have a hope for the future.
