3DSinergy Logo Contest

Our Name/Brand:

So, the brand we came up with is 3Dsinergy. a lovely little play on words, and it sounds great with the makeshift motto we’re running with for now: “more evil together.” Now are we all evil? of course not. Do we plan on being evil… probably not… the future is always in motion, though. But the idea was synergy… and thanks to come copyright constraints, we came up with a play on words that we enjoyed, and gets the message across. “more evil together”: more than what we are individually by being uplifted, motivated, and encouraged by like-minded people… to put out products that everyone one in the group has poured some part of who they are, what they like to do in to it, and maybe even some part of their personal story in to it.

Logo Description/Tips:

So here’s how I like to break it down… first 3D. The two of us that came up with the idea are both aspiring 3D artists trying to get out into the freelancing field. Since we both have work, family and home lives, we weren’t really able to jump into the industry life style. and beyond the type of art we’ve been doing, 3D also just represents the unflat nature of life. (e.g. there’s always more there than you see)

The next part is sinergy… which, you guessed, came from synergy. the idea of working together to be something bigger than the sum of the individual parts. switch this to sinergy, and you get the idea, there’s a nice play on words, let’s have fun with it. “more evil together.” If you’ve ever handled a group of kids, you know the kids themselves aren’t evil by any means (well, most of them). but when you get them together and they start feeding off each other, you’re soon pulling your hair out and convincing yourself they’re hell spawns. until parents come to pick them up, and then life is peachy again. So I like to break this word up in to two… sin and energy (or just ergy if you want to be picky). but for the purpose of where we’d like to see this logo go, I’m thinking energy…
Now, here’s another concept to think about, and that’s when you put it all back together, and you have 3Dsinergy. 3D… meaning multiple directions, sin… yikes, energy.. woohoo… and hey, that sounds like synergy… so wicked craziness from all directions… that ultimately has a unified direction, because, hey, that’s what synergy sort of is.

So I would like to see several design concepts that sort of meld together to form one coherent logo. 3D could possibly be done in a 3 dimensions.. sin could be accomplished with crafty font, or extras tagged on, and energy…. I don’t want to give too many ideas, because I’d really like to see where people take this idea and run with it. That's what we are all doing this for anyway....right?

A logo is our starting point, however there is no box to think outside of here (besides, if you think you think outside of the box, you’re really trapped in one), it’s all free game. If you can come up with ideas to turn it into a living logo (ie something that would morph in videos, something that changes characteristics from medium to medium) absolutely fantastic!!

We also don’t have a set color scheme yet either. Hopefully people working on this will have a decent idea of color balance, warm and cool colors, etc. And if you don’t… feel free to ask.

Rewards/Conditions:
We will be rating, reviewing, commenting and rejecting pretty much on the hour. We do this for a living too, so we understand how it is to post and not hear critiques for days on end. However, we retain the rights to tweak the overall end design if we do not feel it encompasses everything we are trying to get across with our logo. We would also like the design to be finished in Illustrator and would like the Winner to also include a .AI file.

Ok, well congrats! for reading through our ultimate plan and wants for our “studio”.

I will be going through ratings tomorrow. We have been trying to keep up on the comments but I know we have been straggling on the ratings because of a heavy workload recently and we would both like to know each others input on each before rating them. Thank you all for the submissions!

okay, final projects are over, thanks for being patient with us. We'll be providing some in depth feedback this weekend, especially since we will be making this a sealed project in about 4 days. so take your time to look at other people's designs too, and see how they captured certain ideas/concepts mentioned in the brief. After that we'll see where your own mind takes you... (insert evil laugh here)
