This is my first time using this option and I hope it works well.
I'm starting a very small BBQ sauce company for my kids (9 & 15) called "The Damn Good Sauce Company" and I'm looking for logo. It will lead to additional opportunities for the right person. Next we will need labels designed and then they'll need a website that can be used to order products.
My son started with a logo for the jars, attached.

There are a couple grammatical errors and I would recommend looking a some other BBQ sauce labels/logos http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=bbq+sauce+label+design&FORM=HDRSC2

The Product visual name is "Damn Good Sauce"
The company name is Gary B's Damn Good Sauce Company
The 3 primary Flavors are "Hot Mama" "G's Pride & Joy" and "Sweet Honey Lovin' "
There will be additional flavors.
REMEMBER: THIS IS ONLY FOR THE COMPANY LOGO and for Label ideas.

I highly recommend looking at the Logo for Harley Davidson and keeping that direction in mind. Focus on DAMN GOOD SAUCE as the words that people will remember and Gary B's as Secondary as well as the word company.
The Flavors do not need to be part of the company Logo. They will be added below as part of the labels.

I personally like the idea of a LOGO that is a badge and bar similar to Harley Davidson, but obviously not the same. The logo should be limited to 3-4 colors and be easily transferred as part of the product labels and for other advertising. There are some great ideas here, yet many are too much and need to be simplified. Also, The name of the Company is Gary B's "Damn Good Sauce" Company. Focus on DAMN GOOD SAUCE as the tag line being the focal point of all future advertising. Thank you all and the right designer will be given other opportunities for work as the company develops.

Hi! could you please make clear the name to use, because in the brief says "The Damn Good Sauce Company" , but in the attached photo shows "Gary B's Damn Good Sauce Hot Mama!". Some other partners here are using this last name, and its kind of confusing.
The logo can change dramatically the form and the impact depending in the name that uses and the length of it.

  Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm glad I'm in the running! I'll be sending you some edits to consider it in bottle form. But I have to say, my inspiration for this logo design was to allow the barbecue sauce bottle or jar stand out on the shelf. A lot of the other designs seem to follow the BBQ sauce label motifs. I like mine because like an interesting bottle of wine label, it stands out. Thanks! Ben
