Contest Brief

I have been using the current logo for my theatre company some time, and although I like it, I would like a little more detail, or perhaps a brand new approach.

The box is a key image in the logo.

If at all possible, I would like to see a glimpse of a theatre stage or audience seating INSIDE the cube with light beaming out of it - as if there was a big electric performance happening inside. The outside of the box will be sharp black however.

Alternatively, I would like to see a modern box frame, possibly using a bent steel effect to create the effect of the cube or possible neon lighting effect.
Black is the main colour I would like to see.

Ideally I would like to have two options for the logo, with opposing contrast. One with a black background and one with a white background. This way I can easily blend the same logo on websites that have black or white designs.

Attached below is the current logo. I would also like to remove the website from the logo. The only writing would be BLACK BOX THEATRE
Although I am happy with the design below, I would like a better lighting effect coming from the box.
