Design brief for Barefoot Clinics logo

Barefoot Clinics http://barefootclinics.org.uk is a charity providing sustainable healthcare where its needed most. We provide free acupuncture clinics and training to rural communities in developing countries; we are currently working on a national project in Nepal. 

We need our logo redesigned as we go into a period of rapid growth and expansion. Our current logo is misleading because it gives the impression of being about feet more than acupuncture! It also looks too basic - we need something much more refined and professional.

PLEASE NOTE this is not a corporate job - look at other charity logos for inspiration, not companies. We don’t want something really slick and impersonal, we want something warm, human and powerful.

Our logo needs to sum up who we are and our approach to solving health problems in remote regions. Our core values and aims are:

* Empowering communities through training locals as acupuncturists

* Creating sustainable systems of healthcare; acupuncture is a safe and effective system of medicine without any adverse side effects.

* We work openly and in partnership with local governments & organisations 

We would like to see some abstract ideas that could sum up what we’re about and some more literal ideas (e.g. with a needle/ globe etc) and a mix of graphic and hand drawn styles. 

We need a high res logo + a business card template that we can add contact details to.
