Contest Brief

REQUIRED: A logo that is [symbol] + [words/name] I need to be able to change the name at a later date. The symbol should not incorporate the business name or initials.

BUSINESS NAME: “Wisdom Institution” (Tagline: A Place for Wisdom).

SYMBOL FEEL: wisdom/enlightenment/illumination and structure/intuition/legacy.
SYMBOL COLORS: Basic and/or muted colors. Nothing too loud/neon.

SYMBOL IDEAS INSPIRATION: There are two main themes that have not been explored (the bodhi trees are great – but I don’t need to see more of them).
1) A Diamond – Either the finished stone or Google ‘cleaved diamond’ and look at the roughly geometric ones (that are diamonds, but not prepared for mounting.
2) A mixture of Light/Flame with Institution (building/structure) – I’ve attached here a mock up from paint as an idea. Also consider the 'pyramid of knowledge'.

NOTE: In total I will require:
• A logo (colour and b&w)
• Business Card Templates
• Letter head Templates
The latter two basically require placing the logos into templates for me and shouldn't add much time.

As things progress I will require future work (presentation templates, promotional templates, and so on) and would ideally use the same designer.

Hello Joel!
First, I would like to know if you would be okay with just about any toned-down color scheme? Would you lean towards cool colors (Blues,Greens), or warm colors (Reds and Yellows), Any images you particularly had in mind as inspiration for a logo?

  Inspiration - it's a mix of wisdom/institution/legacy - so things that represent this. A non-exhaustive list: diamond, flame/light, elephants, universities/banks, the bodhi tree. Maybe one or a couple of these elements.
  Colors - I have no preference, just shying away from bolder colors as appears less 'serious'.

Hello Joe.
What must be shown and written on the business card? Logo and text «A place of Wisdom» and something else? I can add QR-code (link to your site, or any text that is referenced by the link).
And what about to be shown on the logo? Symbols «WL», or what? What will do your company?

  If you create the card so there is space for name, contact details, website and so on. A QR code won't be required, and I can always add this at a later date or put it on the reverse. - Thanks for the thought though!

  The name of the business is 'Wisdom Institution' but I need a logo/symbol that doesn't incorporate these words directly (I will just put the name next to the logo) - the name may change as I haven't purchased the rights/domain yet.
