Hi,

I am running a contest to find the best logo design for a new martial arts equipment business. The logo would be used on items such as punch bags, gloves, belts, pads etc in a VERY competitive market. Therefore designs must be distinctive and instantly recognisable for consumers.

The brand will be called 'Archon'. In ancient Greece, an Archon was one of the ruling lords, so the name - we hope - speaks to the idea of (eventually) occupying a position of authority in the marketplace.

Ideally I would like to see the word 'Archon' forming part of the logo somehow, possibly with the letter 'A' being graphically distinct, in such a way the 'A' (or other graphic - all ideas considered and welcome!) could be be recognisable for Archon in the same way the Nike 'swoosh' is easily associated with Nike, even when the word 'Nike' isn't present.

We would favour simple, clean, designs using no more than two colours. This is because the logo will be printed/included on all products and these products may come in a variety of colours.

The winning logo, once awarded, will be required in various formats such as PDF, ESD, vector etc to allow for the best printing & inclusion options on products.

The winning entrant may be re-hired at later points for design tweaks, specific to certain products, as required.

Naturally all designs should be original and not copied or plagiarised from any other sources.
