Contest Brief
Hello Graphic Designers,
Thank you for looking at my project. I am in need of a good book cover design.
As we all know, don't judge a book by its cover, but good cover sells more. This book has been published and gets good ratings. My readers wants more sample so I am revising it. While revising the book, I might as well revise the cover. I work on the contents of the book, you do the cover for me and this is how it goes:
Book Title: Charcoal Painting
Subtitle: Basic Tools and Techniques
Author: Edwin Mallari
I have attached some files so if you are interested in joining this contest, you must download and follow it. These files are from the publishing house and "must be followed".
FILES TO DOWNLOAD:
BookCover6x9_Color_60.png - This is the template for the book cover. The canvas size is over sized as it comes from the publisher as one size fits all. Instructions on borders and graphics placement is in the layer called background. Don't delete this layer. If you have questions, post it below.
barcode_978-1-4751-5997-4_300dpi.png - This is the ISBN barcode. You must place this into the appropriate area as described in the background layer of the template.
DSC01973_e.jpg - This file is to showcase my work. You can put it anywhere in the front cover as you see fit. You can re-size it, adjust contrast and brightness, put border, vignette etc.
MY REQUIREMENTS:
1) Separate the layers, ie, background graphics, title text, subtitle text, author_name_text, about_the_author, etc.
2) On the back of the book, Add "about the author" and just put the usual lorem ipsum for me to edit.
3) During file handover, make sure you attached all the fonts that you used. You must send the same BookCover6x9_Color_60.png that you edited.
4) After the subtitle, add these paragraph in small text: "One if a series of instructional books on charcoal painting with step by step illustration".
As far as how it should be, anything goes. When I do my artworks, the number one rule is make it look good. This applies to you also. Thanks!
