Softstorms.com is a startup mobile game entertainment app developer and publisher. We currently are on the verge of awarding projects on this site and elsewhere for our first four mobile gaming apps. All our impending mobile game apps contemplate strategy or adventure (e.g. castle-attacks; Flappy Bird-type game; Ludo-type game, and holiday-themed game). We need a new, corporate logo. Something which is simultaneously professional, edgy, creative, catchy, and aesthetically eye-pleasing. Ideally, the logo should incorporate our colors: bright red, yellow, light green (and/or optional black star). The ideal logo would hint at our company's name, with just a glance or two, even when the logo is reproduced without our corporate name. Apple, Twitter, Shell, Jaguar, VW, Target Stores, and Taco Bell are some of the more iconic corporate logos which instantly impress the the viewer. We are open to any design style, 3D or 2D, as long as it is your original work and does not infringe upon any other corporate entity's trademarks or copyrights. Let your imaginative spirit soar as your creativejuices flow. "May soft storms be with you."

I want to reemphasize: the ideal logo would NOT need the name "Softstorms.com" as an integral part. Like the "Shell" or "Apple" logos, the icon by itself alone should convey a sense of the company, and be autonomous. Also, I want RED, YELLOW (GOLD), GREEN (see the "Google" or "Ghana Flag" colors) to be the most prominent colors. A black star, if any, should not be that prominent. Thank you.

The winning entry should have a translucent or clear background behind the actual logo proper. I want to be able to use the logo graphic "cut and paste" without having a white square or black suqare background around the logo when pasted into another application. Imagine the logo "cut out" with a scissors. That's what I am looking for.

  I haven't seen 74 & 73 yet. However, one of your entries, #65, almost earned my first 4-star rating. It is possible that as the contest nears its end, your #65 and one entry each from 2 other current contestants will be upgraded to 4 stars each. That said, #72, 71, 70, 68 and 66 would have earned a higher rating (one more star) than each actually did, because I posted that any other entry in which the optional corporate name is incorporated will incur an automatic downgrade of 1 star IF the name is misspelled as "Soft Storm" or "SoftStorm". The name is SOFTSTORMS.COM (small letters or capital letters makes no difference, but NOT SoftStorm). Your entries are very original, and the colors are clever, especially #65 (#66 has duller colors and the black background might not be helping).

  Star ratings express our consensus sentiments. Any more details will be unfair to other contestants, you chiefly. If no 5-star rating surfaces, a 4-star rating will win the contest. Incidentally, a very few 3-star ratings may be upgraded to 4-stars, or a 4-star rating with an incomplete name may be downgraded to be fair to those equally meritorious excellent entries rated 3 stars because they stubbornly added optional (unnecesary) name, but then without dotcom extension. These are my final feedback comments.

With very limited exceptions, the inclusion of the NAME "Softstorms" or "Softstorms.com" is NOT being graded, since that can be easily generated by Photoshop or font software. Misspelling of the correct company name, if a contestant decides of their own volition to include it, will result in an automatic downgrade by one star. So that there are a couple of 3-star submissions which have only 2-stars awarded because of such misspellings. I am looking for a 4-star or 5-star entry. Pay attention to my VIP private (and public) feedback.

Please review my Contest Description carefully. The logos/icons/emblems/symbols of Apple.com, Target.com, Shell Oil Corp., Taco Bell, etc. do NOT have any name in them, yet convey a sense either of the company name (as in "Apple" or the Target "Bullseye" or "Shell" or "Jaguar" autos) or the company's purpose. I don't want a logo like "Google" or "Coca-Cola" where the name is the logo and the logo-name is repeated on the business card or letterhead. I'm looking for a stand-alone logo, with or without the company name SEPARATED and to the right or bottom of that logo. I feel that having the company name embedded within or integrally a part of a logo is redundant. I provided the company name merely to help contestants be more creative.

  Please read the Contest descriptions carefully. Since this is not a sealed contest, I don't want to give any designer a competitive disadvantage by having someone else copy that person's ideas with just a little more investment of time. So, all i can say is, your second design is more or less on the same rating as your first. I already explained what "stood out" about your first entry.

The company's name is SOFTSTORMS.COM (or "SoftStorms.com" or "Softstorms.com"), not Softstorms.org or Softstorm.com.
