Create a comic for ongoing work

Konkurrence Instruktioner

We are seeking an artist/illustrator for ongoing work. As part of a new and self-funded creative initiative, we are producing up to 20 completely new and original comics. We may work with several different illustrators/artists on this project.

We are using this contest to identify talent who we can commission for this project. This will be ongoing paid work, noting that you will need to agree to a non-disclosure agreement and assign all rights for the materials you produce to us.

For this contest, we would like to see you produce 2x panels of an original comic based on the brief below:

- Character: John, has a very powerful sense of smell. It would be great to see the smells have shapes, characters, personalities etc. sometimes. For example, a smell could be coming towards John with outstretched fingers
- panel 1: Location is an office. John sits at a desk with a computer with a CRT monitor. SPEECH: I had a job I didn’t half mind not long ago. The people were nice.
- panel 2: Some colleagues gather around John’s desk. Two are holding cups of coffee. We see the smell of coffee on their breath floating towards John, who flinches away helplessly. SPEECH: The fetid coffee breath, not so much.

There is an optional 3rd and 4th panel:
- panel 3: John is handing a printed report to his boss, who is slightly younger than him. SPEECH: I had to quit because of my boss.
- panel 4: John looks upset and turns away from the boss, who looks a bit confused. SPEECH: He was a good guy… but he wore this aftershave.

We are after a film noir style for this comic. The background, outfits etc. is entirely up to you, but follow the details above closely.
