I need a cover image for an ebook. The image will be included in the ePub file as the cover, and used on websites for promoting the book. The image should be provided as high resolution jpeg (minimum width 1400 pixels).

The image must include the book title and author's name, and suitable illustration or other design elements to draw in the intended readership.

Although I am looking for a book-size image, most people's first view is likely to be a thumbnail image in search results, so the design should work at thumbnail size.

Book title: The Barley-child

Author: Robyn Hogan

Primary readership: Women aged in 30s and 40s

Keywords: finding one's identity; family secrets; Australia; Italy

Blurb: Fidelma Dunne nursed her dying academic husband, Kevin, and is trying to pick up some literary work, remake a career for herself. Then her mother dies, leaving the question of her paternity ambiguous.
At the home town funeral, Del is told something that makes her mother's dying statement ring a little truer. She follows up with questioning her older sister, Anne, and a courtesy aunt, her mother's best friend, about the summer before her birth.
All the time she is worrying about who she is and following leads, she is also trying to establish herself as a researcher and writer. One commissioned task takes her to southern Italy and excerpts of her work, set in medieval Apulia, are included in the narrative.
The Barley-child, set over the years 1943 to 1992 and ranging from Sydney to Italy, is one woman's story of trying to re-build a meaningful life for herself.

Thank you to everyone who submitted a design. I chose the design by andreiadobrota because it was a symbolic, metaphorical expression of what the book is about.

brendonfarley also produced some good designs that conveyed the essence of the story, but I (and my wife, the target reader) preferred the more symbolic design.

While I liked some of the other designs, they never went beyond describing the book title (without any suggestion of understanding the meaning of the title -- and I admit I never told you the meaning of the title, but Google will).
