Contest Brief
So I need a cover for the second book of my American Civil War Alternative History trilogy. It follows how the South might have won the Civil War in 1863. The first book is on Amazon but I'd like a nice cover for book 2. We all know that people are more likely to take a look at a book if it has a nice cover.
Anyways, here is what I am wanting for the cover.
- Robert E. Lee on a horse at the front of a line of Confederate soldiers. How many soldiers there are is up to you, but I want it clear that they are advancing. Show at least one Confederate battle-flag.
- This can either be on an open field or in a town. That's up to you.
- This is a battle scene, so have a few Union soldiers dead or wounded. Again, you can have as many or few as you want.
- Also, as a battle-scene, perhaps show that they are under fire as well. Maybe a cannon-ball exploding nearby or a rebel getting shot. That is optional though.
- I do want however to have at least Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain in the scene with a revolver getting ready to shoot Lee.
- The title for the book is "Rise of the Confederacy II: The High Water Mark" and also add author name "Adam O. Harmon". "Rise of the Confederacy" is optional because Amazon allows you to add it's part of a series and which book it is when you publish it on there and shows it on the product page.
Please, no copyrighted images for this cover. Added are pictures of Robert E. Lee with his favorite horse, Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, Confederate and Union soldiers to help with research for the cover. I have also added a document for those unfamiliar with the Civil War that gives brief descriptions of the characters for the image and the war itself.
Update Nov. 8:
I am extending the contest because none of the entries really did it for me. I am adding a rough image I drew to give a better idea of what I want. If you just want to take the existing image and clean it up, fix it so it looks better, that is OK.
