Contest for a industrial re-design of a plastic enclosure and graphics decal.

We are looking for industrial designers to participate in a contest to redesign and existing control panel. Participants need to provide conceptual sketches or 3D renderings for their ideas of the redesign. Designs must work around the size of the PCB and switches.

We will pick 3-5 ideas we like the most and offer feed back of what we like and dislike from the sketches or renderings. These 3-5 participants can then resubmit new designs for a final approval. The final one selected will be paid $500.

We currently have the assembly drawn in Solid Works 2015. This is a basic square box that needs to be redesigned for a modern and professional look. We do not like the shape, graphics, and the way it is hinged. You can see this in the attached 3D PDF.

After we select the winning idea we will post another job to complete the work in Solid Works 2015. We will provide the Solid Works drawing of the PCB and switches so that the enclosure is designed to fit these components. A matching graphical decal will also need to be created in an industry standard program such as Adobe Illustrator, Coral Draw, or other.

We are looking for a designer that is creative and has expedience in designing plastic injection enclosures.

Some people have asked for dimensions. Attached are those that mainly show the dimensions of the PCB and switches. Please note that the actual size and shape of the control panel can be change as long as they allow space for the PCB and switches. The size now is probably at its minimum. The location of the red and orange LED's can change as long as they do not interfere with the screen on the PCB.

Although there can only be one winner, this process does have value to the non winners because it has shown us your talents and we will most likely enlist your services for other projects. For what machine is this plastic enclosure you want? Is it universal or for one machine only? What should this plastic enclosure have to posses from equipment? I see there is a led screen and two buttons, but does it have to possess this 6 lights? And one last question. Do you want inscriptions to be printed or engraved on the lid?   This is an industrial control panel. I have posted the size of the PCB and switches. You are NOT limited to the size or shape as long as the components fit. There needs to be two banks of LED's each with 2-3 LED's. There will be a graphical decal on the front with a window for the screen and LED's. Be creative with the shape!

  I have posted the dimensions. You are not limited to a size as long as the PCB and switches fit. Our current design is minimal in size. I do like your second entry, the way the screen is indented in. There needs to be between 2-3 LED's on each side. I would like to see more ideas not limiting you to size or shape. I think you are onto a great design.
