Contest Brief

I am looking to develop an illustrated character for a self published children's book. It's a story about a young girl who loves Kung Fu, she is aged approx. 6-8 years old. She is half Chinese and half Caucasian. I would like her to have long mousy brown hair and to be pretty (girly). She will be wearing traditional Kung Fu clothing.
I would like to see illustrations that look hand drawn, that are simplistic yet colourful, think something like Tintin. It's for a children's book so must appeal to 3-8year olds.
In the beginning, I am looking to develop the character only. If your illustration is chosen I may wish to hire you in the future to illustrate the book.
I would like the winning artwork to be provided in all of the relevant file types for print and for online. My budget for this project is approximately $20 - $50. Must be original artwork - copies or ripping off other peoples work will not be accepted.

The key characteristics should be; young girl 6-8yrs old, half Chinese half Caucasian and kung fu martial arts.
