  Greetings artists, sorry for the long-waiting, I also had some troubles with PC to fix.
  
  it wasnt an easy choice but we have considered #57 to be rightful winner for this contest, we also had to step back to our former title "Notte" as since "il buio dentro" is the title of a different somwhat recent book, so for better clarity we eventually considered the former alternative as final choice for the book.
  
  I want to clarify that I am aware that the title could could easily be changed, for instance if we had opted for the second title #61 would have won instead. I finally opted with the actual winner for originality of the concept, final cover is somehow more "catching" for the possible buyer also in thumbnail size.
  
  exactly I was particularly interested in #26 and #58 pls a few others, I'mno artist so I can just judge on overall impression a possible customer may have in watching a cover respect another, I'm not determining art-quality at all with this project.

     Honestly i think mobys work is not so good. It has to be scary story but pink color and funky dude in hat dose not work in this scenario. Also you were so critical for the meaning of the illustration, but all of the sudden you just chose more catchy cover. What hand on the background is means? Why dude has zero emotions on his face? But that is just my opinion. Best regards.

  This is the ideia coming abit more to life some details still need work, now it's just about the contrast and lights.
  You mention the lines look "too happy" would you like the overall image darker? lighter?
  I was going to add the shadow men walking into the shadow of that balcony. Main character probably a bit behind watching.

  Please check #53 #54 #55 , basically the same idea but differences in the background.
  The idea is an undefined entity representing paranoia or maybe the fear in the heart of the main character.
  Also , it has the shape of a vampire/monster as you described in Brief and it has the eyes of a dragonfly as this could make it really very scary and it would see a lot more (in the mind of the reader who connects his imagination with this cover) the soul of "the machinist" artwork as i am a very big fan of that artwork.
  I don't know if your book has anything to do with the diabolic ideas so we can erase the satanic star on the monster's head if it was not needed.
  I hope you like it and the background can be changed as desired...i gave you (Full darkness-Empty street-Painted wall)

  #48 very interesting idea, i wont say anything and let you develop it your own
  #52 cool concept and location, please describe your image, why white man is flat?
  #50 improvement respect previous image, the red-death is however not relevant for this story.
  #49 unfinished and "empty" art, concept is not properly developed, death is not relevant

  dear artists, please consider this when you come to design your interpretation: the horror the main character experience is just a way to manifest something hidden within him, something he did, a sin he is unable to admit to himself in first. Also consider the phychological aspect of the novel, as it is more relevant respect real horro presence in the cover.

  #38 photo seems taken from some game/movie, face has some sign of corruption. The overall idea may be good but the shadow figure is a little too reductive, simplistic and somewhat inaccurate.

  #37 very nice idea dropping out of the cam the monster hairs, monster looks more like a cat/wolf, this time 2nd image looks better than just pencil, also cool location and interpretation of character job, we have lost the "disturbed" position of previous picture

  one church, there V. firstly meets the monster, the little chapel at night project a shadow in diagonal, there the monster "vanished" to reappear outside of the shadow, most of the locations were visited during night times.
