I have written a childrens book and need an illustrator. The main characters are an eight year old boy and his imaginary friend.
I have a particular style in mind - Luigi Lucalli. Is a good example.
I need very minimal background to no background in the illustrations. I need the focus to be on the characters , their body language and facial expressions.
I imagine the boy to be cute and quirky ( brown hair - bit tossled, big brown eyes, smallish nose and small ears that stick out)
I need a character created which will be The invisible friend. He will need to have the comical facial expressions like “ The Grinch”. The invisible friend is possibly light green in colour, I need him to be quite tall, and he needs to look funny, mischievous but not scary.
For the purposes of this exercise to find an artist that suits my needs, I’d like to see the following scenario please:

The Invisible friend is controlling the boy like a puppeteer. He is holding the wooden crossbear with a look of delight on his face, his elbows are raised and the boy has strings attached to his limbs ( like Pinocchio) The invisible friend is making the boy splash in muddy puddles that will splash across the page. It’s a sunny day.

let me summarize what I understood here:
1. you need to design both characters, which means creating a character sheet for each one with different views and poses and expressions.
2. you want to implement these two character in the scene you described ( the puppet scene).

then the winner designer will be selected to generate the whole story . and this is NOT included in this contest

  Sorry Ayman, as I’m looking for an illustrator to do all the illustrations for my book ( around 24 in total) I’m just looking for one scene so that I can choose an artist based on style, so I’m using one scene from my book to help me find the right illustrator. I’m looking for one basic illustration which is an eight year old boy with a cheeky but cute quirky face who is being manipulated by puppet strings held by his imaginary friend. They both look like they are having the best fun!
