Contest Brief

BACKGROUND

Christmas is around the corner! It's a season of opening. Opening presents. Opening hearts. Opening APIs!

Our company has recently opened up an an internal API called the Directory Services API!

It centralises both People and Projects associated with our company in the one place. It provides a base foundation for building apps which will allow us to connect and collaborate with each other in new ways. We've spent the last six months building it and now we are looking for people to test it out! We thought a great way of doing this would be holding a contest with the mighty freelancer community to build an app!

Keeping the Christmas spirt alive your invited to create an app which uses our new API. The app should have a theme of helping remote teams celebrate Christmas. There winner will be the entry which is the most creative entry and also has solid technical intergration of the Directory Services API.

Technology wise you can use whatever you like and knowing basic JavaScript is all you need.

You'll be provided with a Directory Services account which will let you access the API, and a repo for your your project.

DEMO APP

StaffMap (https://staging-map.x-company.com user: monkeybot password: password) is a JavaScript front-end app which demonstrates basic usage of the API for authentication and staff lookup. The source for this app is available to those who register.

MAIN GOAL
* Validate the power of Directory Services.

OTHER GOALS
* Demonstrate creativity and technical genius.

RULES
1. To participate you must register.
2. Both individuals and teams are eligible to enter. Teams will split the prize.
3. This is a contest for a prize
4. Have fun!
