path finding

Hi , i have used the markers to track the path . Take a look at the video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3kw1F_xUcY&feature=youtu.be Let me know if you find it good enough, I'd provide the script. thanks

Its possible with unity3d.. and the solution which i gave doesn't have the moving back while facing front scenario otherwise all other requirements are met.. plus the above mentioned scenario would be complicated with accelerometer..

the "h" or back arrow key does the 180 spin , you can move forward and go to either left or right if you touch the intersection. If you don't want the moving back while facing front scenario, then i think all the requirements are covered. The movements have been smoothened out . Please,do check the demo once again. If you want the 180 spin to be triggered by some other key it could be done.

hmm...maybe I am not accessing the correct demo. Every time I try your demo it is the same thing , are start walking on the G and H keys and the users just slowly spins around in place instead of walking. Please repost your demo address again.

I'm sorry to hear you are not going to continue working on my problem. Perhaps it is impossible with Unity 3D. It looks like nobody is going to deliver what I need. If I don't get a solution, I will probably repost the contest and raise the award, so, you might continue to work on it. At any rate, thank you for trying.

ok.. good luck with your search, Sir. It was fun working on the subject. Just in case if you haven't seen , the movements have been smoothened .

This is not a normal 3D game. I do not want something that you sit on the couch and play by just holding down one key. All movement has to be smooth and powered by alternately pressing two different keys continually.

sir i dont expect to consider my opinion.. but the following is the way how the character movement is handled in 3d : when u r pressing the forward key it wouldd move in the direction in which its facing , it can turn left or right while moving forward (i have added this functionality which was missing in the earlier build ). But if you want to move backwards you have to completely turn , no game tries to move the character backwards but facing front. I have reduced the speed . Please take a look and let me know your views.

Here's the long description. To move forward the player has to continually alternate between the G and H keys (think of it as walking on the keys). As long as they continue walking on the keys, they move down the path. If they stand on te keys, or just one of the keys or leave the keys completely they DO NOT move down the path. Also, I want the movement to be slow and smooth, the speed a walker or hiker would move. This is not an adventure game. As the walker approaches the intersection they start walking on the F and G keys to CONTINUE walking down the left path. As the walker approaches the intersection they continue walking on the H and J keys to continue walking down the right path. Once through the intersection, the return to walking on the G and H and they continue walking down the path.

I ran the demo, but, it seems like it is a little eratic. It will move when I walk on the G and H keys, but, that is only because the G drives it. The H actually stops it. I want a smooth walking experience that is driven by continually alternating between G and H. Also, I couldn't control the left and right movement by walking on the F and G or H and J keys. Maybe I am missing something?

Okay I got the demo to run on my workstation. It seems to be a pathfinding application. I don't want the computer finding the path, I want the walker to be able to choose the direction before they reach the intersection. When they reach the intersection they then just keep walking like a real hiker in the direction they want to go. The keys that they walk on before the intersection to turn left are the F and G keys. If they want to turn right then they start walking on the H and J keys before they get to the intersection. You seem to be very knowledgeable.

I am NOT able to access the link. Would you please resend. also, it is important that there be a four way intersection at the middle of the figure 8. I need to make sure that the Walker can make a 90 degree turn left or right. thank you for your entry and I hope to hear from you again soon.
