UPDATE 2: I have been advised to include some more earthy tones as an option, because "blue/green without the balance of the tan and grass green looks cold and less down to earth than you are." I think this person has a great point (as usual!) and I would like to at least explore this color palette as an option as well. It may have been more the colors and not as much the design elements that left me feeling a lack of the "organic/natural" emotions that I was going for. These colors don't all need to be heavily or equally represented in the lettering of the logo, but can be included with subtle design details, or maybe brought out in other ways. Black or gray lettering can definitely also still work, and not everything needs to be exactly these colors, but I think some earthy hues like these can help evoke the more natural/organic feeling I was looking for. UPDATE: Please no camera aperture illustrations (segmented circle opening). One other illustration that can also be overused, but I may actually still be open to using, is a Rolleiflex (twin lens reflex camera). See Jonathan Canlas or Mastin Studio for the type, but I don't like all the detail and flourishes they include either. There are some really good type layouts coming in, but often they are crowded out by a large illustration that doesn't fit well within my brand.

I am looking for a logo for my photography business. I am in the "fine art" portrait and wedding genre, where everyone else seems to be using messy calligraphy, but I'd like it to be a little more clean/refined than the average messy calligraphy fine art photographer's logo. I am open to commercial typefaces as well as hand writing, and it would be a bonus (NOT REQUIRED - I'm not sure if it's better to keep it simple and clean or not) to incorporate analog film as I use medium format cameras and film regularly.

I am attaching a mood board (identity map) that I put together with photos, color, feelings, and copy that grabbed my attention. I hope this provides a lot more direction and inspiration for my logo. I like the blue/green base (very similar to Tiffany blue. (there is a Tiffany watch ad included on the left side). While it doesn't have to be exact, here is the Tiffany color code: #0ABAB5

This is the tag line I was able to arrive at: honest photography. beautifully crafted.

I am open to slight changes in the way it’s presented, but know that I want the “honest photography” and “beautifully crafted” included.

Also, as a part of my work leading up to this point, an important concept emerged as a part of my brand. My photography is very HONEST (trustworthy, sincere) and my personal demeanor is more detail oriented (fine craftsman, high technical ability, and I offer high end products from my photos). I do my best to evoke natural, real expressions of joy from my subjects, and I am also OK with photographing kids that aren't smiling from ear to ear. It's important to me to keep my work believable and relatable.
